DALIYA KHICHDI

Ingredients:

  • Finely chopped onion, tomato, carrot, and french beans 1 cup
  • Green peas- 10 gms
  • Chopped green chili 1tsp
  • Ginger-garlic paste � tsp
  • Broken wheat(Dalia)-  30 gms
  • Turmeric powder � tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds � tsp
  • Oil 1 tsp
  • Salt- to taste
  • Chopped coriander – to garnish

Notes:

  • The number of ingredients can change as per the number of people being served.
  • If you like you can change the style and make modifications to the mentioned ingredients and recipe.

Directions:

  1. Heat the oil in a pressure cooker and add the cumin seeds. 
  2. When the seeds crackle, add the onions, green chilies, and ginger-garlic paste, mix well and saute till the onions turn translucent. Add the chopped vegetables and saute for 3 minutes.
  3. Add the broken wheat, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt along with 1 cup of water and mix well. Pressure cook for 1-2 whistles.
  4. Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid. Serve hot.
