VEG FRANKIE / KATHI ROLL

Ingredients:

for aloo stuffing:

  • 2 tsp oil
  • ½ capsicum, thinly sliced
  • 2 potatoes, boiled, peeled, and mashed
  • ¾ cup paneer/cottage cheese, crumbled
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri chili powder / lal mirch powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala powder
  • ½ tsp chaat masala
  • salt to taste

Other Ingredients:

    • 2 tsp butter
    • 3 chapati or wraps
    • 6 tsp tomato sauce / or mashed tomatoes [ made at home ]
    • ½ cup lettuce, thinly chopped
    • 1 carrot, thinly chopped
    • ½ onion, thinly sliced
    • 3 tsp green chutney

Notes:

  • The number of ingredients can change as per the number of people being served.
  • If you like you can change the style and make modifications to the mentioned ingredients and recipe.

Directions:

  1. Firstly, saute capsicum for 2-3 minutes in some oil.
  2. Further, add boiled potato and crumbled paneer.
  3. Add chili powder, garam masala powder, chaat masala and salt.
  4. Mix well and prepare cylindrical shaped sticks. keep aside.
  5. Now, add very little butter onto the tawa.
  6. And roast Multigrain chapati or wraps until they warm up.
  7.  
  8. Now place the roasted chapathi or wrap on a flat surface.
  9. Spread generous amount of tomato sauce.
  10. Also place lettuce, carrot and onion in the centre of chapathi.
  11. Further, place the prepared cylindrical stuffing of aloo in center.
  12. And apply green chutney.
  13. Now fold the bottom up.
  14. Also slowly, fold both the sides one after another.
  15. Roll into aluminium foil or butter paper covering the frankie.
  16. Finally, veg frankie or Kathi roll is ready to serve with tomato sauce.
