HEALTHY Matar Paneer

This recipe is curated to provide numerous health benefits while keeping calories to a minimum. It features powerful, nutritious and simple ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 80g paneer (cottage cheese), cubed
  • 1/2 cup green peas
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp ghee
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup water (adjust as needed)
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Directions:

  1. Heat 1/2 tsp ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chili, and sauté for 1 minute.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until tomatoes are softened.
  5. Add green peas and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add paneer cubes and mix well. Pour in 1/4 cup water and cook for another 5-7 minutes, until the peas are tender and the paneer is heated through.
  7. Stir in garam masala and cook for 2 more minutes.
  8. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
