Ingredients:
- For The Moong Dal Dhokla Recipe
- 1 cup green moong dal (split green gram), soaked for 2 hours, and drained
- 1 tbsp roughly chopped green chilies
- 2 tsp besan (Bengal gram flour)
- 2 tbsp finely chopped cabbage
- 2 tbsp finely chopped carrot
- 1 1/2 tbsp low-fat curds (Dahi)
- a pinch of asafoetida (hing)
- salt to taste
- 1 tsp fruit salt
Notes:
- The number of ingredients can change as per the number of people being served.
- If you like you can change the style and make modifications to the mentioned ingredients and recipe.
Directions:
- Combine the moong dal, green chilies, and 5 tbsp of water in a mixer and blend to a smooth paste.
- Transfer the paste into a bowl, add all the remaining ingredients, except the fruit salt, and mix well.
- Just before steaming, add the fruit salt to the batter and sprinkle 2 tsp of water over it.
- When the bubbles form, mix gently.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 175 mm. (7”) diameter thali and steam in a steamer for 10 minutes.
- Cut into pieces and keep aside to cool slightly.
- Serve the moong dal dhoklas immediately with healthy green chutney.
