METHI THEPLA

This recipe is curated to provide numerous health benefits while keeping calories to a minimum. It features powerful, nutritious and simple ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup Multigrain flour
  • 2 tbsp fresh methi (fenugreek) leaves, finely chopped
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp sesame seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp ghee (for cooking)
  • Water as needed (to knead dough)

Directions:

  1. Mix multigrain flour, chopped methi leaves, turmeric powder, red chilli, powder, cumin seeds, coriander powder, sesame seeds, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Add water gradually to form a soft dough. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into small portions and roll each portion into a ball.
  4. Roll out each ball into a thin circle (thepla) using a rolling pin.
  5. Heat a stainless steel pan, and lightly grease it with 1/2 tsp ghee.
  6. Cook the thepla on both sides until golden brown and slightly crispy, pressing lightly with a spatula.
  7. Serve hot with yogurt or pickle.
