HEALTHY FRUIT CUSTURD

This recipe is curated to provide numerous health benefits while keeping calories to a minimum. It features powerful, nutritious and simple ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup low-fat milk
  • 1 tbsp custard powder (unsweetened)
  • 1-2 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1/2 cup mixed fresh fruits (e.g., apple, banana, berries)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Prepare Custard Base: In a small saucepan, mix the custard powder with 1/4 cup of milk to make a smooth paste. Heat the remaining milk in the saucepan until it’s warm, but not boiling.
  2. Cook Custard: Add the custard paste to the warm milk, stirring constantly. Continue to cook on low heat until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  3. Sweeten: Stir in honey or maple syrup if desired and mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Add Fruits: Once the custard has cooled, gently fold in the mixed fresh fruits.
  5. Chill & Serve: Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
