LENTIL SOUP [ RED ]

Ingredients:

  • Split red lentil (masoor dal),soaked – 30g
  • Onions, chopped – 30g 
  • Carrots, chopped – 20g
  • Tomatoes, chopped – 20g
  • Black peppercorns – 1g
  • oil – 1/2 tsp
  • Garlic, chopped – 5g 
  • Crushed red chilies – 1/4th tsp 
  • Salt – to taste
  • Mint leaves, crushed – 5g

Notes:

  • The number of ingredients can change as per the number of people being served.
  • If you like you can change the style and make modifications to the mentioned ingredients and recipe.

Directions:

  1. Wash the lentils, and put into a pressure cooker.
  2. Add the onions, carrots, tomatoes, peppercorns and mix. 
  3. Add four cups of water and pressure cook till 3 whistles. Allow to cool. Grind into a fine puree.
  4. Heat the oil in a non-stick pan. Add the garlic and sauté till well browned. Add the puree, crushed red chilies, salt and mix well.
  5. Add water if you feel the consistency is too thick. Garnish with mint leaves
