Ingredients:

  • Apple gourds (tinda) peeled 2-3 medium
  • Yogurt 50g
  • Mustard seed- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds-1/2 teaspoons
  • Curry leaves- 4-5
  • Fresh coriander leaves- 5-6 
  • Green chilies- 2
  • Turmeric powder-1/4 teaspoon
  • Oil- ½ teaspoon
  • Salt- to taste
  • Water – as required

Notes:

  • The number of ingredients can change as per the number of people being served.
  • If you like you can change the style and make modifications to the mentioned ingredients and recipe.

Directions:

  1. Make incisions on the pieces. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add asafoetida, mustard seeds, and cumin seeds, and let the seeds splutter.
  2.  Add curry leaves, gourds, salt, and mix well. Add turmeric powder and mix. Add ¼ cup water, mix well, cover, and cook for 1 minute. Slit green chili and add. Cover and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  3. Add ¼ cup water to the pan, cover, and cook for 5 minutes. Add yogurt and mix well.
  4. Roughly chop coriander leaves and add. Mix well. Cover and cook on low heat for ½ hour. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot
