Ingredients:
- Fresh mustard leaves (sarson) 1 Katori (chopped)
- Spinach leaves (palak) 1 Katori (chopped)
- Bathua (chopped)(Optional) ½ Katori
- Oatmeal 1 tsp
- Ginger, finely chopped 1tsp
- Onion, finely chopped ½ medium
- Green chilies, finely chopped – 2
- Salt – to taste
- Oil 1/2 tsp
Notes:
- The number of ingredients can change as per the number of people being served.
- If you like you can change the style and make modifications to the mentioned ingredients and recipe.
Directions:
- Heat 1 cup of water in a pot. Chop all the greens. When the water comes to a boil, add the chopped greens.
- Add 1 finely chopped green chilly, press a little, cover, and cook for 20-25 minutes or till the greens become soft.
- Remove pot from heat and churn all the greens.
- Add the oatmeal and mash as you mix. Heat oil in a nonstick pan, add ginger and mix well. 4Add remaining finely chopped green chilies and saute.
- Add onions and saute. Transfer the saag from the earthen pot to the pan. Cook for 15-20 minutes. Add salt and mix well.
- Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish and serve hot.
