DAL PARATHA

Ingredients:

For the dough:
  • Whole wheat flour –  30 gms
  • wheat bran- 10 gms
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Milk 1 tbsp
For the Stuffing:
  • Chana dal  20 gms
  • Green chilies, chopped- 1/2 Tsp
  • Chopped coriander (dhania) a few
  • Onion chopped 1/4 small
  • Fresh ginger, chopped 1/2 Tsp
  • Salt –  to taste
  • Oil 1 Tsp

Notes:

  • The number of ingredients can change as per the number of people being served.
  • If you like you can change the style and make modifications to the mentioned ingredients and recipe.

Directions:

  1.  Mix the wheat flour and salt. Add enough milk to make a soft dough. 
  2. Knead the dough very well and keep it aside for 15 minutes. Divide the dough and roll out into rounds with the help of a little flour.
  3. For the stuffing: Wash the chana dal and soak in water for 1 hour. 
  4. Boil plenty of water, add the chana dal and salt and cook till tender. Drain and cool. 
  5. Add the green chillies, coriander, onion and ginger. Mash it together and divide the stuffing into lemon sized balls.
  6. Place one ball of the dough on the rolling pin, roll it into a 3-inch diameter circle. place one portion of the filling and wrap it by pulling all the sides towards the top. Now give it a shape of pattie.
  7. Roll it into a round shape and place it on the nonstick tava.
  8. Cook for a few minutes using 1teaspoon oil. Turn over on the other side and cook again until crisp.
  9.  Repeat for the remaining rounds and stuffing. Serve hot with curds.
