Ingredients:
For the dough:
- Whole wheat flour – 30 gms
- wheat bran- 10 gms
- Salt ½ tsp
- Milk 1 tbsp
- Chana dal 20 gms
- Green chilies, chopped- 1/2 Tsp
- Chopped coriander (dhania) a few
- Onion chopped 1/4 small
- Fresh ginger, chopped 1/2 Tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Oil 1 Tsp
Notes:
- The number of ingredients can change as per the number of people being served.
- If you like you can change the style and make modifications to the mentioned ingredients and recipe.
Directions:
- Mix the wheat flour and salt. Add enough milk to make a soft dough.
- Knead the dough very well and keep it aside for 15 minutes. Divide the dough and roll out into rounds with the help of a little flour.
- For the stuffing: Wash the chana dal and soak in water for 1 hour.
- Boil plenty of water, add the chana dal and salt and cook till tender. Drain and cool.
- Add the green chillies, coriander, onion and ginger. Mash it together and divide the stuffing into lemon sized balls.
- Place one ball of the dough on the rolling pin, roll it into a 3-inch diameter circle. place one portion of the filling and wrap it by pulling all the sides towards the top. Now give it a shape of pattie.
- Roll it into a round shape and place it on the nonstick tava.
- Cook for a few minutes using 1teaspoon oil. Turn over on the other side and cook again until crisp.
- Repeat for the remaining rounds and stuffing. Serve hot with curds.
