CABBAGE MATTAR

Ingredients:

  • Cabbage, finely chopped- 1/2 cup 
  • Peas- 1/4 cup
  • onion- 1/4 small
  • curry leaves- 1-2
  • mustard seeds- 1/4th tsp 
  • Turmeric- a pinch
  • corriander powder -1/4th tsp 
  • red chili powder ¼th tsp
  • garam masala,- a pinch
  • Salt- as per taste
  • Oil – 1/2 tsp 
  • lemon juice- 1 tsp

Notes:

  • The number of ingredients can change as per the number of people being served.
  • If you like you can change the style and make modifications to the mentioned ingredients and recipe.

Directions:

  1. Heat oil in pan, add mustard seeds and let it splutter. 
  2. Add the onion and curry leaves once the seeds crackle. Sauté till the onion looks translucent. 
  3. Once the onion is translucent, add the chopped cabbage. 
  4. Add in salt, turmeric, red chili powder and coriander powder. Mix to combine, make sure all the cabbage is coated with the spices. 
  5. Next add in the peas and mix.
  6. Cover and cook on medium heat till the cabbage is soft, around 5-6 minutes. Sprinkle garam masala on top and add in the lemon juice (optional). Mix till well combined. 
  7. Serve hot.
