BEETROOT HALWA

Nutrients

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups medium grated Beetroot 
  • 3 tsp Ghee/extra virgin coconut oil 
  • 1-2 tsp fresh Cardamom powder 
  • 5 cup regular milk/almond milk/coconut milk 
  • 1tbsp date puree 
  • Pinch of salt 
  • Nuts for garnishing.

Notes:

  • The number of ingredients can change as per the number of people being served.
  • If you like you can change the style and make modifications to the mentioned ingredients and recipe.

Directions:

  1. Take a thick bottom pan and heat the Ghee/coconut oil on medium flame. Add  grated beets and saute for 3-5 minutes or until soft. 
  2. Now add milk of your choice and cook covered until all the liquid evaporates. Keep stirring occasionally or else it may stick the pan. 
  3. Next, add the date puree (soak dates in warm water and grind it) and allow it to cook for another minute. 
  4. Add cardamom powder, mix well until combined and cook on low heat till it all comes together and excess moisture is absorbed. 
  5. Garnish it with nuts of your choice. Serve hot/chilled.
